The O'Sullivan stable enjoyed a magnificent week both on and off the track this week. Starting off Terry and Karina O'Sullivan's week was the news they had been cleared after a Racing Victoria stewards inquiry into a positive swab from Last Drop, following his win at Moonee Valley in November. Last Drop returned a positive swab of three-mthoxytyramine of 5.0 milligrams a litre (mg/l), well above the allowable 4.0mg/l threshold.

GARY Murphy and his band will pay tribute to '80s rock band Dire Straits at Pacific Road Arts Centre in Woodside next month. The April 17 show follows a performance during last year's Mathew Street Festival in Liverpool, when Gary paid tribute to Dire Straits and Gary Moore. Looking forward to the Pacific Road concert, Moreton-based Gary said: "Dire Straits' frontman Mark Knopfler was hugely influential on me when I started performing and I have always enjoyed his style of guitar playing.

Residents in southern Madison County may see their homeowner's insurance rates drop after the Red Lick Volunteer Fire Department received a $71,750 grant. The federal grant, which required a 5 percent match from the department, paid for the purchase of a used 1998 fire engine to replace the department's current apparatus. Frost sparkled across the grass at Keeneland on Saturday morning as runners gathered around the barns, stretching and jogging to warm their muscles up.

The Montville Town Council on Monday night voted overwhelmingly to raise building permit fees. The new rate, $10 per every $1,000 of construction, is a $2 hike that is expected to bring in more than $30,000 in added revenue. "We're really behind in our fee structure," Building Official Vernon Vesey told councilors.

An often-contentious hearing in Madison Circuit Court today ended with Judge William G. Clouse denying a motion that would have required an assistant prosecutor to testify as a witness. The motion was sought by the attorneys for Richmond police officers Sgt. James "J.J." Rogers and patrolmen Brian Hensley and Garry Murphy, and would have required Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Jennifer Hall Smith to testify as a witness in the officers' March 22 trial on charges they attempted to influence McQueen's s

Darren Clarke suffered a triple-bogey as he slumped to a five-over-par 77 in Friday's second round of the the Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur. The Dungannon player, who also had three bogeys and a birdie, slipped to six over for the tournament and missed the halfway cut by five shots. Peter Lawrie stays on three under after a 72 while Gary Murphy is also on his way out after a 79 left him 13 over.

A judge in Richmond has set a trial date for three Richmond city police officers accused of witness tampering. The Richmond Register reported Sgt. James Rogers and Officers Garry Murphy and Brian Hensley face trial beginning March 22. Madison County Circuit Judge William Clouse set the date during a motions hearing on Thursday.
